Why pay for professional unique logo design when you can use clip art?
A logo needs to be unique and recognizable clip art cannot be unique as you will not be the only one using it. You can’t trust such an important aspect of your business to be represented by just clip art. You can also be sued for using copyrighted material as your logo without permission. Read the terms when you download clip art, chances are using the graphic in a logo is expressly prohibited.
You can only copyright artwork you own and have created. If you use clip art in a logo, you will never own the right to your own logo.
In order to be able to use a graphic image as your corporate identity you need to own the rights to that image otherwise all your branding and marketing efforts are useless. When using clip art you also face another risk of being mistaken for another company or probably a bunch of other companies since many other businesses will probably be using the same graphic image. This makes it harder for you to stand out and give a professional impression to your prospective clients.
Having a logo professionally designed will ensure the size and formats necessary for all uses. A logo should be readable in small sized so it can be printed on a pen or other promotional material. The logo should be scalable so it can be printed at billboard size without losing quality. Some element of the logo should be recognizable and versatile enough to use as a favicon on your website.
