Twitter is addicting, fun, and good for business. However staying on twitter when on the road can be a bit difficult. So the good news for all twitterholics is that there are a number of apps that you can install on your BlackBerry that will enable you to tweet even on the road. You can access twitter through the BlackBerry browser, but there are a few apps made for the purpose. I went though a number of these apps and tools in a quest to find the best tool for the BlackBerry and found two of the best.
TwitterBerry
TwitterBerry is one of the newer apps that enables you to tweet on to twitter on your blackberry. However before you go ahead and download twitterberry you first need to ensure that your handset meets the minimum requirements.
Downloading and installing twitterberry is pretty easy. All you need to do is to visit: http://www.orangatame.com/products/twitterberry/ and click on one of the download options. You can either download twitterberry to a USB or directly over the air to your Blackberry however for this you will need internet explorer. Once you have downloaded and installed it, you should have a small icon on your phone’s display click that and you can start tweeting.
In my opinion twitterberry is a bit unreliable. It made my blackberry hang up a couple of times after I installed it. The website from where you download twitterberry is also unreliable and keeps going down making downloading it a bit of a trouble.
Tiny Twitter
If you didn’t like TwitterBerry then you will probably like tiny twitter as an alternative. It has pretty much the same functionality and is also easy to navigate. The good thing here is that instead of using up your SMS Tiny Twitter uses your data transmission plan to sent tweets.
One of the downsides of Tiny Twitter is that you aren’t able to see any replies from your contacts. Apart from that it works pretty much as it should. I didn’t have any problems either installing or uninstalling it but for those who only follow a few contacts Tiny Twitter can be a turn off. You can download Tiny Twitter from: http://www.tinytwitter.com/ and just click where it says “Get the goods here”.
